On my 25th birthday I was posed with a question, now that I am a quarter of a century old, what is the most influential thing I have learned thus far.
It's taken me a while to come up with an answer. A question that big deserves a thought out answer, and I think I finally have one.
Life is all about balance. The balance between work and play. Between significant others and friends, between friends and family, between truth and fiction and most importantly what we believe and what we know.
The balance of knowing what is right for you and how to achieve it.
For me, balance is something I struggle with personally. My career is very important to me. However, in order to get ahead I occasionally am unable to do the things I enjoy. When it comes to friends I often find myself balancing all of my personal relationships, finding time for friends, loved ones, family and all the in betweens. When it comes to my passions it is a struggle to balance my idealistic views of the world and the business world that I find myself wrapped up in.
Is there a right answer? No, probably not. Will I ever achieve that perfect balance for all these facets of my life? Highly unlikely. But what I do know is that working towards that balance is what will keep me going in the long run.
